So here it is the day of the big move and you’re busy organising the family and helping the removal men so you might find it difficult to think about your first few hours at the other end.
Preparing a survival kit can make your moving day run so much more smoothly and by packing your essential items separately you’ll be able to get to the quickly at the other end after your move. No one wants to be scrambling for teabags and cups when your desperate for a brew! Make sure you pack an overnight bag with a change of clothes and essential toiletries and medication for that first night too!
Below is list of things that we think are essentials to have in your survival pack but we would love to know if you think we have missed anything off the list.
From the kitchen:
- A Mug, plate, knife, fork and spoon for each family member
- The kettle
- Tea and Coffee
- Spare cups for the removal men.
- Food for breakfast that doesn’t need cooking
- Bin liners
- Any pet food/bowls.
From the bathroom:
- Toilet roll
- At least one towel
- Basic first aid kit
From the bedroom:
- Phone chargers
- Your alarm clock.
For the small ones:
- A few books/toys
- A portable DVD player and DVD’s
- Their favourite teddies for comfort.
Hopefully your move runs smoothly but with this survival guide you’ll be ready for most things. Remember you probably won’t have the internet for a few days so make sure you’ve got alternative entertainment for all the family. Good luck!
